FAQ

  1. How a Screw Compressor Operates A screw compressor is a displacement compressor where a screw works as a piston as on other kind of compressor. As one of the main types, a screw compressor is mainly composed of a concave and a convex rotor which moves close to each other to press the volume between them and inside the chamber. The pressure released by a screw compressor depends on the length of the screw and the shape of the air vent. There is no unbalanced mechanical force generated since no valve is equipped on the screw kit. That’s why a small screw compressor can run at a high shaft speed while generating high power.
  2. How a Reciprocating Compressor Operates Driven by the rotating crankshaft through the connecting rod, the piston reciprocates regularly in a displacement composed of a cylinder, a cover and a piston tip. When the piston runs from the cover, the displacement in the cylinder increases gradually so that the gas, though the tube, kicks open the inlet valve and flows into the cylinder till the. The inlet valve switches off till the displacement reaches the peak. Once the piston runs backward, the displacement in the cylinder decreases and the pressure of the gas climbs till the pressure in the cylinder reaches close to or a little above the exhausting pressure when the exhaust valve opens to discharge the pressure in the cylinder. The exhaust valve closes till the piston reaches its climax. The whole process repeats and repeats when the piston runs forward and backward. In short, this is a circulation includes a crankshaft rotate, a piston reciprocate and a gas inlet, pressure and discharge.
  3. A Gas Valve’s Importance and How it is worn As a vital spare parts on a big reciprocating compressor, a gas valve is critical to the economy and reliability of the compressor’s operation. The complicated and various gases compressed in petrochemical facilities lead to different life time of a valve—the min at less than 1000 hours. A gas valve is an important wear part on a reciprocating compressor and it is always worn as its components’ mechanical failure, its components’ erosion and so on. The most worn components are valve plate and spring.
